Chief Executive Officer
Bill is the chief executive officer and has worked for Encompass Health since the summer of 2022. His initial role was controller before moving into his current role as CEO. Bill has worked in healthcare for more than 35 years in various leadership roles in acute care hospitals and large physician groups. Bill is a CPA and holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of West Florida and a master’s degree in health administration from the University of St. Francis in Joliet, Illinois.
Medical Director
Dedicated to the health and wellbeing of her patients, Dr. Tanya S. Harris holds triple board certifications in physical medicine & rehabilitation, electrodiagnostic medicine and brain injury medicine. After completing her undergraduate studies at the University of Virginia, Dr. Harris went on to be the youngest graduate of her class at Philadelphia's Temple University School of Medicine. She also finished at the top of her residency at the University of Kentucky before starting her own rehabilitation practice. Drawn to neurorehabilitation, she then had the privilege of serving as TBI/polytrauma director for a major veterans' hospital where she helped bolster function and quality of life among combat veterans. In 2018, she was recruited as national medical director/chief medical officer for New Zealand’s largest brain injury and stroke rehabilitation provider. She has enjoyed teaching residents and furthering standards of care from the local to the international level. She is especially excited for the opportunity to promote care as medical director at the opening Shannon Rehabilitation Hospital in her new home of San Angelo, Texas.
Dr. Harris is an independent private practice physician.
Business Development Director
Becky serves as the business development director, bringing more than 15 years of experience to Shannon Rehabilitation Hospital. Becky has served in various leadership roles throughout her career in the post-acute care setting ensuring patients receive the appropriate care. Born and raised in San Angelo, she is excited to serve the residents of San Angelo and surrounding communities.
Director of Pharmacy
Jennifer has served as the director of pharmacy at Shannon Rehabilitation Hospital since April 2022. She earned her bachelor's degree in biomedical science at Texas A&M University and her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Texas at Austin. Jennifer has more than 15 years of pharmacy hospital practice experience in the San Angelo area. Jennifer is passionate about her profession and strives for excellent patient outcomes through patient education and safe medication management.
Facilities Management Director
John Durham brings more than 25 years of professional experience including managing new construction projects as well as directing operations in acute care and long-term care facilities. John was the integrated services director at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, Texas for 28 years before becoming the facilities management director at Encompass Health in 2022. John has an applied science degree in business management and is a licensed journeyman electrician for the State of Texas. John is proficient in state and local guidelines and has been a team leader of many successful hospital inspections. John lives in Sterling City and is an active member of his church.
Chief Nursing Officer
Anissa Johnson serves as the chief nursing officer at Shannon Rehabilitation Hospital, an affiliate of Encompass Health. Prior to joining the Shannon Rehabilitation Hospital team, she served as a nurse manager at Encompass Health’s hospital in Lubbock, South Plains Rehabilitation Hospital. She has a passion for patient advocacy and excellence in the delivery of patient care. Starting her nursing career as a licensed vocational nurse in 1996, her nursing journey has given her the opportunity to work in a variety of acute care settings. Some of the positions she has held are primary stroke center coordinator, house supervisor and patient placement coordinator at University Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. Anissa earned her master’s degree in nursing from Lubbock Christian University in Lubbock, Texas.
Director of Case Management
Amanda brings with her more than 23 years of clinical experience with a background in nursing and case management. She is a west Texas native and a 1999 graduate from Angelo State University with a bachelor’s degree in nursing. Amanda is excited to now be serving patients as the director of case management in San Angelo and looks forward to building relationships within the community to help ensure patients can return home safely.
Director of Quality & Risk
Jamesha has worked for Encompass Health in three markets and in various duties. She started her career as a nurse tech providing direct patient care, then moved to an administrative role as the nurse staffing coordinator. While in San Angelo, she started as the administrative assistant and advanced her career to director of quality and risk management in 2022. Jamesha’s dedication to her work and patient safety makes her a vital part of the Encompass Health team. She works diligently to ensure all quality metrics are met and patients have a positive experience while in our facility.
Director of Human Resources
Whitney serves as the human resources director at Shannon Rehabilitation Hospital. Whitney began her career in human resources in a rural hospital setting, where she served as the director before joining Shannon Medical Center in the employee relations department. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University and a master’s degree from Angelo State University. In her role, Whitney focuses on employee morale and fostering a positive work culture for all employees.
Director of Therapy Operations
Dr. Wierzowiecki graduated from the University of Texas Health Science Center in 2000 with a master's degree in physical therapy. In 2006 he obtained his transitional Doctorate in physical therapy from Temple University. His clinical practice experience includes acute care physical therapy, outpatient physical therapy, pediatric home health, skilled nursing rehabilitation and inpatient rehabilitation. Dr. Wierzowiecki’s management experience spans from lead physical therapist in acute care and outpatient settings to management of multiple facilities employing diverse, multidiscipline staff. For more than 20 years Dr. Wierzowiecki has served as a director of rehabilitation in the skilled nursing and inpatient rehabilitation settings and has been responsible managing multiple facilities. At the corporate level he has played an integral role as team lead for design and implementation of staffing models, productivity standards, transition of therapy acquisitions, budget design, clinical education and outcomes, and annual review process. Dr. Wierzowiecki’s current focus is on the changing treatment paradigm in the continuum care model for patient outcomes from acute care to home. This focuses on establishing close working relationships with acute care providers, inpatient therapy centers, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient therapy centers, hospice care and home healthcare agencies.
